Drafting Manager - We are hiring!

Due to our current Drafting Manager retiring from full time employment after 18 years in this role Choice Homes are excited to be able to offer this position to the right candidate.

As a Drafting Manager, you will support, mentor, and continuously develop the drafting team.

Reporting to the Construction Manager.  

We require the applicant to have the right attitude and experience as well as blend in with the ethos of the company.  Responsible for maintaining production and sales workflow, ensuring the teams’ production is of high standards and in a cost-effective manner. To succeed in this position, you will need to be a people person, supportive and nurturing. 

The responsibilities for the Drafting Manager include:

Manage workflow including master planning of estates, sited, preliminary, working drawings, variations, and amendments.  

Liaising with Private Certifiers, Town Planners, Engineers, Local Council, Sales Department and Estimating Department. 

Reviewing and quality checking all drafting workflow and plans against our quality and standards. 

Ensure plans are completed within specified time frames and in compliance with estate covenants, variation documents, relevant soil survey, land survey, BAL ratings. Completion of BERS report included. 

Provide induction, training and coaching for team members.

The successful candidate will have:

oTertiary qualifications in residential drafting, building design or similar.

oMin 5 years’ experience in residential construction or related environment.

oKnowledge of residential building codes, guidelines, planning schemes and 6-star energy requirements.

oAdvanced Rivet skills.

oIntermediate Microsoft computer skills (Word, Excel & Outlook).

oKnowledge of design techniques, tools, principles, methods, and materials involved in the production and construction of residential homes.

oPrevious experience of managing a team is preferred but not required.
