New Westfield Coomera opening date revealed

Coomera's new multimillion-dollar Westfield has announced it will open its doors in just 30 days.

The new Westfield shopping centre which boasts cinemas, a huge outdoor leisure space and more than 140 retailers, will open for the first time to the public on Thursday, October 11.

The centre, which stretches to 5900 square metres, has been likened to the size of Helensvale, with the option to extend further in years to come.

Centre Manager Lauren Frew said while work on the complex is still underway, the 30 day deadline will be reached.

“This is our first greenfield site which allows us to design and construct a shopping centre around the needs of the community from scratch,” Ms Frew said.

“We get to listen to what they like and don’t like and incorporate that into the design.”

The unique design includes a heavy use of natural lighting and an emphasis on outdoor space. Food and leisure retailers which make up 30 per cent of the tenancy. Source: Gold Coast Bulletin.
